06-02-2026 - 5:45 AM - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, and the Clay County Amateur Radio Club will hold its weekly emergency practice net tonight at 8:00 PM on the club’s 146.800 MHz repeater. Tune in with your scanner radio. Already this morning, the Wichita Falls city transit buses are active on 453.5375 MHz, the James V. Allred Unit prison at 153.815 MHz, and the Wichita County Jail at 155.520 MHz. School is out, so the always-entertaining school buses, usually on 152.360 MHz, are taking a long break. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready!

--- 6:20 AM - ERCOT (Texas) snapshot of grid conditions - ERCOT reports that conditions are normal and there is enough power for current demand with an operating reserve of 9,282 Megawatts.

--- 8:20 AM - FEMA Daily Operations Briefing

--- 10:40 AM - The Economics Daily

--- 2:00 PM - A man, sporting some sort of ID card around his neck, parked on the corner and is heading down the street on foot. I closed my blinds. I will not give him the time of day. I know what I want and/or need, and I know where to get it. These people are living in the last century. I’m really sorry that they have to do this for a living, but I can’t make that my problem.

--- 2:15 PM - From the City of Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances - No person shall harbor any noisy animal, fowl, livestock, or wildlife of any kind that makes an unreasonable disturbance to the peace of the occupants of an adjacent premises or the vicinity thereof, including the making of unusual noises by howling, barking, or bawling. Just a reminder. Public ordinances are "edicts of government" and have no copyright protection.

--- 5:00 PM - The world's largest Buc-ee's opened two years ago in Luling, Texas. The address is 10070 I-10, Luling, TX 78648. I would probably stop at every Buc-ee's I see. So far I've only visited one and that's the one across from the Texas Motor Speedway on TX 114. Maybe I need to get out more often.

--- 7:00 PM - The CB Radio band is alive and well this evening. Channel 14 is jam-packed. That's usually not one of the busiest channels, but maybe I'm just missing the action during my scans. The Local Group was on Channel 23 earlier.

--- 8:00 PM - It sounds like the "Roger Beep" guys are back on 462.5625 MHz this evening. I mentioned them yesterday. Also, the Clay County Amateur Radio Club net has kicked off on the 146.800 MHz repeater. Hear it all on your scanner radio.
