03-21-2024 - I drove past a well-known chain restaurant and noticed an employee taking a cigarette break in his car. He was wearing those clear plastic gloves that are usually used for food handling. Were these the same gloves he was wearing inside the restaurant? Did he return to the restaurant with the same gloves? I do not know. There's no telling what really goes on in these places! Do we really want to know?

03-21-2024 - It's 7:30 AM, and I'm listening to CB Radio Channel 19 as the band opens. The heterodynes are becoming more evident, and they're beginning to take on a mysterious musical quality. No other channel does it quite like 19 and I find the notes strangely enjoyable.

03-21-2024 - Good Morning! I slept in until 6:00 AM! What was I thinking? I listened to Morse code on the 40-meter Amateur (ham) Radio band on my bedside shortwave radio. I resumed that activity this morning on my Yaesu 857D radio. I make Parks on the Air® contacts using CW (Morse code), but those are short contacts. I need a more extended listening experience to keep my speed up. I'm not a regular practitioner of long-winded "rag chewing" sessions. Short information exchanges, by voice or Morse code, better suit my personality. I've always been more of a listener than a talker. The only thing on my "to do" list for today is a trip to Natural Grocers. Let's see what the day brings.

03-20-2024 - I made contact with AB9CA at Jacksonport State Park (US-1086) in Arkansas on 20 meters (14 MHz) CW (Morse code) in the Amateur (ham) Radio Parks on the Air® program.

03-20-2024 - From the U.S. Federal Communications Commission - FCC adopts rules requiring cable and satellite TV providers to specify the \"all-in\" price for video programming services in order to allow consumers to make informed choices.. (Dkt No 23-203). Action by: Commission . Adopted: 2024-03-14 by R&O. (FCC No. 24-29). MB. Contact: Joseph Price, (202) 418-1423 //// FCC Enforcement Bureau seeks information on the state of private-led traceback efforts of suspected robocalls for the Commission's annual report. The deadline to submit is May 1, 2024.. EB.

03-20-2024 - I switched from CB Radio back to Amateur (ham) Radio, and I see that the Parks on the Air® pickings are pretty slim right now. There are five stations showing on the POTA website, but they all have puny signals right now. I'll check back a little later.

03-20-2024 - I saw someone online report that they were going to do storm spotting with a CB Radio. I wanted to tell them that the static crashes would drive them crazy, but I decided to mind my own business.

03-20-2024 - According to local news reports, Midwestern State University is adding the Bachelor of Science in Political Science, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and Master of Science in Industrial Technology to its catalog. This is good news!
