01-25-2024 - Good Morning! Once again, I've made it to coffee time. The old guys on 1947 kHz did also. When I become alert enough, I'll jump on the exercise bike for a spin. That will probably require a second cup of coffee. Meanwhile, that waste management company on 463.300 MHz, the Wichita Falls State Hospital is busy on 154.800 MHz, the City transit bus drivers on 453.5375 MHz are chatting it up, and our local school bus drivers on 152.360 MHz are preparing to pick up and deliver their loads of little darlings. If only they were all little darlings.
01-24-2024 - From my corrections consultant - The Allred Unit has, or used to have, an auto mechanics class for inmates, and employees could have minor repairs done on their cars for just $5. The employee had to supply whatever parts were needed. When a vehicle was rolled into the shop, the wheels were removed and locked in a storage room. I can't imagine why. Unknown who got the $5.
01-24-2024 - News reports indicate that the Allure Nightclub is now open at 814 Indiana Avenue in Downtown Wichita Falls. This location was a gymnastics operation a year or so ago. I guess no one gave a flip about. Allure is advertising "electric dance music." I guess that's as good a form of exercise as any.

FloatMe is also being charged with making baseless claims that cash advance limits would be increased by an algorithm or another automated system.
01-24-2024 - I'm trying to work Parks on the Air® US-6302 Fisheating Creek Wildlife Management Area in Florida on CW (Morse code). He's fading in and out, but I want to know if a fish-eating creek is as bad as a kite-eating tree.

01-24-2024 - Good Morning! I'm on my first cup of Folgers Black Silk, and one of the guys in the 1947 kHz group decided to bust out with some Roy Clark "Yesterday When I was Young." My advice to the gentleman: Leave that one with Roy Clark. Speaking of yesterday, there was a lot of chatter on the 147.140 MHz repeater. That's always a good thing. Let's see what today brings.

01-23-2024 - U.S. Amateur (ham) Radio Operators: have you ever use an International Reply Coupon? From Wikipedia - (Text is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License 4.0) International reply coupon - An international reply coupon (IRC) is a coupon that can be exchanged for one or more postage stamps representing the minimum postage for an unregistered priority airmail letter of up to twenty grams sent to another Universal Postal Union (UPU) member country. IRCs are accepted by all UPU member countries. UPU member postal services are obliged to exchange an IRC for postage, but are not obliged to sell them. The purpose of the IRC is to allow a person to send someone in another country a letter, along with the cost of postage for a reply. If the addressee is within the same country, there is no need for an IRC because a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) or return postcard will suffice; but if the addressee is in another country an IRC removes the necessity of acquiring foreign postage or sending appropriate currency. The United States Postal Service stopped selling international reply coupons on 27 January 2013.
01-23-2024 - Wichita Falls could use a Go Kart track on the north side of town. In fact, the City's north side could use many new things. I'm also thinking a stand-alone catfish restaurant similar to the former Uncle Lynn's, complete with a big fireplace, would be nice.

01-23-2024 - Good Morning! It's 6:30 AM, and if you're in line at Starbucks at Kemp & Kell in Wichita Falls, leave now and drive across the street to Frank & Joe's Coffee in Parker Square. You can go to Starbucks tomorrow! As for me, I'm enjoying my second cup of Folgers Black Silk. I might have mentioned before that I have a younger brother who is a Starbucks addict. He once had a cup of my coffee and said, "Compared to Starbucks, this tastes like water!" Well, I'll continue to enjoy my Folgers water.
