According to an item on the Times Record News website, a CNN anchor has suggested that the Kansas City Chiefs replace the Dallas Cowboys as America's Team. I have more important things to worry about. Someone on X, formerly known as Twitter, complained to one of our local news media about not carrying much local news. I can't argue with that. Fourth Thursday: simplex on 146.52 MHz. Fifth Thursday, if applicable: 147.36 MHz repeater, tone 173.8. Notice anything interesting? A simplex net! The club also conducts a weekly Morse code class! *I know we have a sister city in Germany. We can have more than one sister, especially one we can visit without an international flight!

12-11-2024 - The U.S. Federal Communications Commission levied fines against three people in the Brockton, Massachusetts, area for pirate broadcasting in the FM broadcast band. Two operators received a fine of $40,000 each, and the third, $120,000. This dollar amount probably got their attention. I don't know why one of them got a $120,000 fine. I didn't read that deep into the report. Maybe he was a repeat offender. I repeat, maybe he offended again!
12-11-2024 - There has been an increase in use of Family Radio Service - FRS radios on the north side of town. More people seem to be finding a use for these inexpensive, low-power, license-free units.
12-11-2024 - North Texas edition of the Sidewinders on Two net is Wednesday at 8:00 PM on 144.250 MHz. A high, horizontally polarized antenna is needed for all but very close stations. I think upper sideband (USB) is used. If they sound funny, try the LSB.
