12-10-2024 - It was 1988, and I was 3,500 feet over the Grandfield, Oklahoma Municipal Airport. It was my third student static-line parachute jump. After checking that my static line was securely attached to the airplane, I climbed out onto the step while holding onto the wing strut. Continue.

12-09-2024 - One of my James V. Allred Unit consultants, Offender Porter J. Hall, checked in via a unit (TDCJ) phone. He said he noticed the light fog this morning but is waiting for some real "parole dust"; fog so heavy you can climb the Allred fences unseen by the officers in the gun towers or the roving patrol vehicle. 12-09-2024 - 5:53 AM - Good Morning! It's Monday! On the schedule is Cowboys football on Monday Night Football. In late 1983 or early 1984, the local Amateur Radio club set up a display at Sikes Senter Mall. It was in the "pit" on the central concourse outside the main Dillard's store. The pit was a sunken area resembling a wading pool. Somewhere along the timeline, the pit was filled in. Maybe people kept falling into it. I don't know. The Wichita Falls Gun & Knife Show happened this weekend, and I let it slip by. I don't attend. I have all the guns I need, but I like to keep up with popular events. I think Wichita Falls has a gun show three or four times a year. My coffee is ready!
