12-04-2024 - Things to do - Model Rocketry - Wichita Falls has a model rocket launch pad in Lake Wichita Park, just west of the radio control airplane field. I don't know of any organized model rocket activity in town. You can buy rockets, engines, and accessories at Hobby Lobby. I was really into Estes model rockets when I was in the 8th grade. Most of you reading this were yet to be born.

12-04-2024 - North Texas edition of the Sidewinders on Two net is Wednesday at 8:00 PM on 144.250 MHz. A high, horizontally polarized antenna is needed for all but very close stations. I think upper sideband (USB) is used. If they sound funny, try the LSB mode.

12-04-2024 - 5:18 AM - Good Morning! It's Wednesday! Other than listening, I didn't do any radioing yesterday. That's common since I'm mostly a listener. I have contacted 432 state or federal parks in the Amateur (ham) Radio Parks on the Air® program since January 1. I missed the Clay Couny net last night on 146.800 MHz. I was watching something on TV. I never check in to the net, so I'm sure they didn't miss me. Who knows what the day will bring? My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready!

12-03-2024 - A few years ago, above the Wichita Falls Public Library, at the Fifty Plus Zone, on the floor, in the Social Room, in front of the Coffee Bar, sat a pair of panties. Was it a ploy to boost membership, or did someone really lose their panties? Well, we boomers do like to party!

This session may be in the form of a news bulletin or just random characters. I'm still determining. It doesn't matter because Morse code is Morse code. Bulletins contain more numbers, and I always need practice with numbers! And it's a news bulletin!
