08-06-2024 - Good Morning! Tonight, at 8 PM the Clay County Amateur Radio Club will hold its weekly informal net on the 146.800 MHz repeater. As far as I know, all licensed Amateur (ham) Radio operators are invited to check in. Of course, scanner radio enthusiasts can also tune in. Next Thursday, the WFISD school buses will be back on the air at 152.360 MHz. I'm telling you, this is cheap entertainment! Also back will be the school handheld radios on 151.940 MHz. The school buses use a repeater but the handheld radios do not. You'll have to be near a school to hear the handhelds or have a high outside antenna.

08-05-2024 - Texas has no restrictions on the mobile use of scanner radios. Therefore, there is no excuse not to go "wardriving" with your scanner radio in search mode, looking for new frequencies to monitor.

08-05-2024 - The price of a First Class postage stamp jumped from 68¢ to 73¢ last month. I didn't know this one was coming. I used to do a lot of mailing and would know when these increases were coming. Well, it's too late to get ahead of this increase by buying Forever stamps. Did you know there are people who don't know how to address an envelope? Did you know there are people who don't know what a Self-Addressed, Stamped Envelope is or what it's used for?

08-05-2024 - From the U.S. Federal Communications Commission - AST&SCIENCE LLC APPLICATION TO LAUNCH AND OPERATE A NON-GEOSTATIONARY ORBIT V-BAND SYSTEM. 08-05-2024 - I'll be visiting the Wichita Falls Target store today. This is the place where the parking lot designers thought everyone would be driving Mini Coopers.

08-05-2024 - I read an article describing Iran's purchase from Russia, an HF jammer that operates in the 3 - 30 MHz range and can disrupt communications up to 8,000 kilometers away. From the photo, the jammer appeared to be mobile. It's a nice-looking setup. I would think one missile could un-jam it.

08-05-2024 - Good Morning! Saturday, I ordered 100 QSL cards. I don't use many these days, but I send them out occasionally in response to someone sending me their card. I use basic cards, nothing fancy. There is nothing but hot weather in the forecast for the upcoming week, and our lake levels continue to creep downward. I'm ready for some snow! But, at the moment, I'll settle for some Folgers Black Silk coffee.
