05-21-2024 - Good Morning! There's not much on my schedule today. I need six states for Amateur (ham) Radio Parks on the Air® program "worked all states" in CW (Morse code) mode. I don't collect certificates, but I wanted to do it just for the heck of it. I worked two of those needed states - ME and ND - but they have yet to confirm the contact. I don't think they will. I see another needed state - VT - is on the air according to the POTA website, but I can't hear him. Maybe conditions will improve. If not, it's no big deal. Working parks in all states plus $2 still won't get me in the door at Starbucks. But that's okay because I don't drink Starbucks! But my Folgers Black Silk is ready!
05-20-2024 - I made contact with KD0FNR at Great Basin National Park (US-0032) in Nevada on 20 meters (14 MHz) CW (Morse code) in the Amateur (ham) Radio Parks on the Air® program.
05-20-2024 - The Multi-Use Radio Service frequency (MURS) of 151.880 MHZ has been busy the last few days with some local guys chatting. MURS has five frequencies, so there's room for more chatter!
05-20-2024 - I made contact with K5OHY at Bush Family Home State Historic Site (US-10272) in Texas on 20 meters (14 MHz) CW (Morse code) in the Amateur (ham) Radio Parks on the Air® program.
05-20-2024 - According to news reports, Tortillaria Lupita has moved from Old Iowa Park Road to somewhere on Kemp Blvd. I hope that works out for them. I'm sure it will. I've never dined there, but the menu looks like something that will attract customers from all parts of town.

05-20-2024 - Good Morning! It's Monday, but all days are the same since I'm retired. Since I'm hearing the DFW area 146.940 MHz repeater, there is a VHF "band opening" of some magnitude in progress. Since I don't work VHF/UHF DX (long distance), I have a "take it or leave it" attitude on band openings. I know many hams love those conditions, and that's normal. I sort of fall outside that box. There's room for everyone in Amateur (ham) Radio.
