12-25-2025 - 6:00 AM - Good Morning. It's Christmas Day, and someone hit that big-ass Powerball last night! Wow! I bought five tickets yesterday, and out of all those numbers, I got just one! I'm distraught, and only Folgers Black Silk coffee with Hazlenut creamer and a shot of Amaretto can help me now!

--- 6:15 AM - NWS Forecast - Today: Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 83. South southwest wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Tonight: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 58. Southwest wind around 11 mph.

--- 6:30 AM - I might drive around town later and see what stores are forcing their employees to work on Christmas morning. Opening at noon would be okay, but no morning openings. Christmas morning is for opening presents, not stores. Your mileage may vary.

--- 9:45 AM - There are a lot of Amateur (ham) Radio Parks on the Air® stations on CW (Morse code) booming in on 20 meters. I think I'll just listen for a while before switching over to CB Radio to see who's who and what's what on 27 MHz.

--- 2:00 PM - Wichita Falls had a Merry Murder this morning, just after midnight. Local news reports that a man was shot on Yale Street, and a suspect is in custody, charged with murder.

12-24-2025 - 5:00 AM - Good Morning! It's Thursday, and Christmas Eve. Other than playing with radios, I have zip, zero, zilch planned for today. According to the weather forecast, we have more warm days ahead, including an 83° Christmas. I'm not happy about that. I want snow, and we're obviously out of luck this year. Speaking of weather, the annual National Weather Service Storm Spotter class is usually held in February. The class is free. You don’t have to be an Amateur (ham) Radio Operator. Anyone can submit weather reports to the NWS. I’ll post the date when it becomes available. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready.

--- 5:15 AM - NWS Forecast - Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. South southwest wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 57. South wind around 10 mph.

--- 6:55 AM - The first evidence of life on the CB Radio this morning comes from Channel 4, where someone was testing their equipment. Activity on Channels 5 and 6 was close behind. It won't be long before the entire band is buzzing like an overturned beehive.

--- 5:00 PM - I didn't do much radioing today. I tried to give the Briggs & Stratton Q6500 Generator its regular test run, but it wouldn't cooperate. To make a long story short, it's going to need to go into the shop. It's only about 7 years old with very few hours on it, but today it acted like it wanted to come apart at the seams. I need to get it going before cold weather hits. It saved us during the Big Texas Freeze, or whatever it was called. I would not want to go through that without a generator, but I know many did.

--- 7:30 PM - The Local Group assembled on CB Radio Channel 23 at around 6:00 PM, as expected. On the Amateur (ham) radio side, a group is active on 146.520 MHz. And someone has a stuck microphone. I hope they don't say anything embarrassing! Well, unless it's funny.
